The pre-conference workshop on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 will take place in the Capitol Room (Lobby Level).

The WebWise Welcome Reception on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 will take place in the Yorktown/Ticonderoga Room (Ballroom Level).

The WebWise Conference General Sessions on Thursday & Friday, February 26-27, 2009 take place in the Regency Ballroom A (Ballroom Level).

Can anyone attend the the WebWise Conference?
Yes, anyone can attend the WebWise Conference, however, pre-registration is required.

Is there a registration fee for attending the WebWise Conference? How do I register?
There is no fee for attending the WebWise Conference, however, pre-registration is required. To register, please click on the "Register Online" link on the toolbar. 

Registration for the WebWise Conference reaches capacity every year. Since registration is first-come, first-serve, early registration is recommended.  When capacity is reached, names will be placed on a waitlist.  There is no guarantee that those on the waitlist can be accommodated.

Can anyone attend the Pre-Conference Workshop?  How do I register?
Yes, anyone can attend the WebWise Pre-Conference Workshop.  When you register for the overall WebWise Conference, you will have the option to sign up for the Pre-Conference Workshop on February 25.

Please note, the Pre-Conference Workshop is limited to 150 participants.  When capacity is reached, names will be placed on a waitlist.  There is no guarantee that those on the waitlist can be accommodated.

How do I make a reservation at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill?
A limited number of sleeping rooms have been blocked at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill at a group rate of $199.00/night (single/double occupancy) + 14.5% tax. 

Reservations at the group rate may be made online at the website: (preferred method).  To make a reservation over the phone, please call 202-737-1234 or 1-800-233-1234. In order to obtain the group rate, be sure to mention that you are attending the "WebWise Conference."

The cut-off date for the group has been extended to Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Reservations will be accepted after this date on a space and rate available basis only. Please note that our room block tends to fill up. Therefore, you are encouraged to make your hotel reservation immediately in order to ensure availability.

What are my travel options from the airport to the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill?
For transportation from the various local airports to the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, please visit the Hyatt Regency’s website.

Is parking available at the hotel?
Limited indoor valet parking is available at the hotel at both an hourly and overnight rate.  Self-parking is not available.

Will high-speed internet access be available at the WebWise Conference?
Wireless internet access will be available (at no cost) in the general session room and the pre-conference  workshop room.  Internet access is available in the hotel guest rooms at a cost of $9.99 per 24 hour period.

What meals are provided during the conference?
Refreshments and hors d’oeuvres will be served at the WebWise welcome reception on Wednesday, February 25, 2009. 

Continental breakfast and lunch are provided on Thursday, February 26, 2009 for all pre-registered conference attendees.

When and where will the WebWise Welcome Reception be held?
The WebWise Welcome Reception, funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 from 5-7pm. During the WebWise Welcome Reception, MacArthur Foundation grantees will be sharing their research and current projects.  The WebWise Welcome Reception is open to all conference attendees, speakers, project demonstrators, and invited guests. 

The Welcome Reception will be on-site in the Yorktown/Ticonderoga Room (Ballroom Level) of the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.

What are the “Dutch-treat” dinner with MacArthur Foundation grantees?  How do I register?
“Dutch-treat” dinners with MacArthur Foundation project leaders

Project leaders in the MacArthur Foundation’s portfolio on Digital Media and Learning will be “hosting” small “Dutch-treat” dinners at a restaurant venue located within walking distance of the hotel; site TBA. These dinners will be limited to a total of 8 people per table, and will provide attendees with the opportunity to network and share ideas in a more casual setting. Reservations and payment for each meal (pre-selected at a price of $30, including gratuity and tax; alcohol additional) must be made in advance.

Reservations must be made online. Due to the limited availability of seats, registration will be based on a strict first-come, first-serve basis.
